Podcasts are all the rage but how can
you tell the wheat from the chaff? Simple! Only listen to podcasts
that love Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty.
That's what the GeekDads did and you can check them out here. Though I am only a cartoon man, I have created human babies and thus am a GeekDad too!
The
whole thing is worth a listen but the putty related talk starts around
time index 32:15. FYI, the home recipe is cool but it isn't quite the
same. We don't use Elmer's Glue for a few reasons. One is that it
will rot or dry out. That's fine for a home experiment but our
product is made to last....mostly forever.
I was thinking
about putting together a 'make-your-own' REAL putty kit. That would
supply all the ingredients we actually use. You could make a small
batch using a mixer, oven and elbow grease. Would anyone be interested
in something like that? It would be like an advanced chemistry set
where changing the ingredients would make putty that's stickier,
harder, bouncier, melting, different translucency, etc.
